MC AKA webmaster at REW in cahoots with EB came up with this silly idea on the 12th of February. Two days later the first three pages of Google have been forever changed for the search term ” Greatest Real Estate Agent in the world ”
Every hack SEO Real Estate Agent and their brother is now competing to see who will be at the top of the Search Engine Result pages for this coveted term. The award? A nice website template and some hosting. The funny thing is that the majority of competitors don’t give two licks about the prize they are only competing to be #1

Their Methods?

  1. I have seen a mad rush to hit up all of the largest real estate blog communities including REW, Active Rain, WannaNetwork, Bigger Pockets etc…
  2. Advertising on their own well established blogs like the two EB’s (Blackwell and Bramlett)
  3. Many of these characters have been syndicating their bile on Digg, squiddo and the like.
  4. I’m still waiting on the e-mail spam to start “I am a high ranking member of the Sudanese government and I am requesting extra links to my real estate website - please place a link on your site that says:
    <a href=”http://www.greatestrealestateagentintheworld.org”>greatest real estate agent in the world </a> If you do not do this great misfortune will fall upon your head.
  5. I’m not sure but I think we even have a few competitors buying links and using google adwords! The length some people will go to win a silly competition to booster their ego is ridiculous.
  6. There is one stupid competitor who purchased a brand new domain name with ZERO page rank and is not even indexed by google yet. Now indexed by Google 15 Feb 2008, On page 18 of Google for the term-16 Feb 2008.
  7. You can even see them lining up to spam my Do-Follow blogs with their ” Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World “Titles / anchor test linking back to their filthy attempts at SEO world domination ;)
  8. This site will be updated daily. Stay posted for more. I believe the winner will come down to being the one who puts not only the most time into the project but the ones who work smartest. Although I don’t know how fair it is I see a trend forming of people grouping together to promote certain sites. Obviously the power of multiple promoters increases the SEO result possibilities tenfold.
